I bet some of you real estate professionals out there have come across a situation like this one, or something similar. Real estate can be a lucrative business if you really put the effort into it, but sometimes you just hit some bumps in the road that are out of your control…or are they?

Listen to this story about a friend of mine in the business and how he could have avoided the whole problem…

A friend of mine had a house he was looking to rent out. He found a tenant that was a very sweet woman who applied, and she seemed to check out no problem. She had a stable job, no criminal background, good credit, etc. She was stellar. However, she said her husband (who would also be living there) was constantly away for work, sometimes for months at a time, so he wasn’t able to be there to fill out his share of paperwork.
